Material Introduction

Supernol® Aromatic Polyester Powders are Liquid Crystal Polymers based on p-Hydroxy Benzoic Acid, which can be used as high performance polymer additives in various applications.

This unique polymer with a plate like crystalline structure similar to graphite and molybdenum disulfide has the following benefits:

  • Excellent thermal stability and flame resistance
  • Very low coefficient of friction similar to PTFE
  • Superior abrasion resistance and low wear 
  • Excellent dimensional stability, creep resistance and low coefficient of thermal expansion
  • Excellent solvent and chemical resistance (with the exception of strong alkalis and acids)

Our proprietary chemistry and unique manufacturing process allows the production of Aromatic Polyester Powders with:

  • Tightly controlled particle size distribution
  • High purity and cleanliness – Supernol® grades are ROHS compliant
  • High thermal stability and very low amount of volatiles
